Fresno State opens the season still sorting out its quarterback room, and Martin is one of two candidates coach Matt Entz has trusted with the job, along with Jayden Mandal. Whichever one starts against USC will lean on a defense that carried the Bulldogs to nine wins a year ago, since Fresno State’s only Power Four loss in 2025 came by 24 points to Kansas.
